COVID-19 INFORMATION FOR OUR valued Tenants

With the world changing around us so rapidly, and the threat of COVID-19, we are reaching out to keep you informed of Pursuit Real Estate’s Coronavirus policy.

In making our preparations we are following advice from the World Health Organisation, the Chief Medical Officer and Government recommendations, please note the following-

COMING INTO OUR OFFICE

In protecting our community, the office is now closed to all walk-ins and appointments. Please ensure your method of communication with our office is via email.

If you need to return any forms or keys to us, please email where possible or return to the locked box at our office entry, this will be checked regularly.

ROUTINE INSPECTIONS

To assist the Government to try and contain the spread of the virus, all routine inspections will cease immediately and a decision as to when they will be rescheduled will be revisited 31/04/20. Please note that we will still be doing drive-by inspections, so please ensure you maintain the property to a satisfactory standard.

RENTAL PAYMENTS

The terms and conditions of your General Tenancy Agreement will remain the same. Your obligation to pay rent continues. If you experience hardship in paying your rent, you must immediately contact your property manager to explain the circumstances. Failure to declare changed circumstances in paying rent will mean we will continue to follow Queensland legislation for rent payment breaches.

PROPERTY MAINTENANCE AND REPAIRS

Please continue to report any maintenance via email. At this stage our trades will still be attending properties. However, if anyone in your home is unwell, please notify us immediately, and if you may step outside for the duration of their visit to practice social distancing, that would be helpful. Some repairs may be postponed due to the current situation with some trades experiencing delays securing parts and materials to complete works. where this occurs, we have asked our trades to keep everyone informed.

Please be aware that with the current shortage of toilet paper, we need to bring to your attention that flushing alternatives, such as wet wipes (including those that are advertised as flushable) napkins, paper towels etc can lead to major blockages. These alternatives are NOT safe to be flushed.

IF WE NEED TO SEND OUT A PLUMBER DUE TO BLOCKED TOILETS, AND THE BLOCKAGE IS FOUND TO BE CAUSED BY THE ABOVE, YOU WILL BE LIABLE TO REIMBURSE THE OWNER THE FULL PLUMBERS FEE.

WHAT WON'T CHANGE

  • We will continue to collect rent and uphold our legal obligations as your rental agency.
  • Your property manager will continue to be available (via email) and will work to support your tenancy.
  • We will continue to process lease renewals and vacating tenancies.
  • We will continue to expect tenants to uphold the terms of their lease.
  • We will continue our commitment to property management done fairly.
